How do I get more cars into my auto repair shop on slow weeks?

Some weeks the bays are full. Some weeks you're staring at empty lifts. Here's how it played out at our sample shop, the way a mechanic works a car: concern, cause, correction, verification.

1

The concern

Nate's car count dropped from 104 to 78 for two weeks in a row in early September.

2

The cause

Nolavi compared it to last year and to search trends. Back to school weeks always dip, and 160 past customers were overdue for service but nobody had reached out.

3

The correction

We sent a reminder text to the 160 overdue customers and ran a short A/C and inspection campaign nearby.

4

The verification

The next week came back to 101 cars, and 31 of them were from the reminder list. Nolavi now plans for that dip every year.

Questions

Quick answers.

What's the fastest way to fill a slow week?

Reach out to past customers who are due for service. They already trust you, so they book fastest.

Why does my shop slow down at the same time every year?

Back to school, holidays and tax season all shift spending. Last year's numbers show when to plan ahead.
